Party Time!!!

Mark your calendars, WURN is throwing a party to celebrate 1 year of pure Rock Action! Join us along with some of Wormtowns' greatest bands, Amoebas, Time Beings,Classic Ruins, Sheez Late, The Pathetics/Skintights, Numbskulls and The Furys on September 10th at The Spencer Fish and Game Club, 155 Mechanics Street, Spencer, MA at 2pm. There will be food, cash bar, and fun. Also,this is a FREE show so you have no excuses not to be part of it!!
We are also celebrating Our Fearless Leader, Mike's 50th Birthday and Heidi's Citizenship as she has relinquished Germany for the good old USA!!!

In Memory of Rick Blaze

In case you have not heard, Wormtown Rock N Roll legend Rick Blaze passed away Sunday, August 7th in New York City. Rick was our worldwide Ambassador of Music performing his brand of rock all over the planet. I knew Rick for years and not only did he have a prolific career in his own right, but turned me on to countless of other bands with CDs and 45s he'd given me to play on my various radio shows. He helped me out many times by playing benefits, and performing live on the air. On the WURN.net web page, I put up one such show of The Ballbusters broadcast from the studios of WICN 90.5 fm for Radio Prune with The Worm Bros on April,29th 1994. The band consisted of Rick, Jeff Crane, Dave Cuneo, and Jimmy Buscarnio. Listen and remember Rick, always ready to give it all for the music.

Rockin' in Wormtown City

Worcester Center

Took a trip Downtown to see the progress of the destruction of The Worcester Common Fashion Outlets/Galleria/Worcester Center. As you know, they are tearing down our childhood landmark and hang out spot to make way for the City Square development. It's a sad tale of a mall that was mismanaged into obscurity and lay useless for years. But in it's heyday, it was the place to go for shopping, eating, and meeting people. I personally met many girls there in my teenage years, and worked for a while at Jordan Marsh which led to my "Summer of 42" in the late 70's. I'll always have a special place in my heart for this piece of Worcester.
