Human Sexual Response Reunion

Formed in Boston in 1978, Human Sexual Response tore up the local music scene with their unique brand of "new wave" rock n roll. Just before they were to break out nationally, the band broke up in 1982. Last weekend they had a reunion at The House of Blues in Boston to a near capacity room. The show was one of their best performances to date, and I was there to witness it. Here are some video and the audio recordings for your enjoyment.

Matthew Griffins Party

Last Saturday, local DJ/ writer Matthew Griffin celebrated his 40th Birthday by throwing a party at Ralph's Diner. On the bill were Worsteria, anlong with local legends, The Performers, Time Beings and The Missionarys. It was great old Wormtown style show. Here's some photos.

One of Wormtowns Finest Bass Players is throwing herself a party, and we're all invited. This Saturday, Oct. 13 at The Hotel Vernon and what a party it is! A reunion of The Crybabies, who gained a national audience via Little Stevens Underground Garage, The Flipsides, a Portland, Maine group led by Chris Horne formally of The Brood, and Corolla DeVille, from the North Shore. Don't miss this this one!! Starts at 9pm.

Boston Rock!

Last Sunday there was a birthday party at TT The Bears in Cambridge for Bob Colby. Now, I don't who he is, and met him only at said party, but he had a who's who of Boston Rock n Roll legends play for him. Kenne Highland, Willie Loco, Moose Savage, The Classic Ruins and The Real Kids to name just a few. I brought cameras and recorded what I could and now the videos are up on my YouTube page for all to watch. So many great bands in one spot. Here's a sample from Willie Loco....

RIP Carl Rasmussen

As we learned last week of the passing of Carl in a bicycle accident on Park Ave, everyone was shocked and saddened. I knew him casually from meeting him around town at various shows, and remembered him back in the early days of Wormtown when he called himself Spike Viper. Always a supporter of the local scene, he soon emerged with his own group, Dead Wrong and did his best to keep the city alive playing his brand of music. Another tragic lost to the Wormtown Community. Friends are planning a special remembrance gathering at The Raven at 258 Pleasant St. on August 9th, which would have been Carl's 48th Birthday. Punks Not Dad

A few years ago, I stumbled upon this band while surfing the web. Based out of Cardiff, Wales, this group of middle aged men play punk rock with themes that relate to issues facing an aging generation. Members include, Sid Life Crisis, Joe Strimmer, Adiran Viles, and Johnny Cardigan. Their sharp wit and furious style were an instant hook for me. I decided to contact Sid after a facebook encounter and was pleased he agreed to do an interview that you can hear now along with some tunes by the boys on WURN.net. Slitstitch CD Party

Everyone was hot, loud and ready last Friday at Beatniks for the CD release of "Crawling from the Wreckage" by Slitstich! In true DIY fashion, you got a free CDR with no artwork and song list but who cares? I've been waiting for years for a new disc by these guys and was well worth it. All the other bands helped fuel the fire of one fine night in Wormtown! Go here for more control
