RIP Carl Rasmussen

As we learned last week of the passing of Carl in a bicycle accident on Park Ave, everyone was shocked and saddened. I knew him casually from meeting him around town at various shows, and remembered him back in the early days of Wormtown when he called himself Spike Viper. Always a supporter of the local scene, he soon emerged with his own group, Dead Wrong and did his best to keep the city alive playing his brand of music. Another tragic lost to the Wormtown Community. Friends are planning a special remembrance gathering at The Raven at 258 Pleasant St. on August 9th, which would have been Carl's 48th Birthday. Punks Not Dad

A few years ago, I stumbled upon this band while surfing the web. Based out of Cardiff, Wales, this group of middle aged men play punk rock with themes that relate to issues facing an aging generation. Members include, Sid Life Crisis, Joe Strimmer, Adiran Viles, and Johnny Cardigan. Their sharp wit and furious style were an instant hook for me. I decided to contact Sid after a facebook encounter and was pleased he agreed to do an interview that you can hear now along with some tunes by the boys on WURN.net.
